I'm sure the electronic components in this are fine but the cost of circuit design and manufacture has been cut to the bone. £14 (11/23) is a lot to pay for something that is very cheap to produce. I suppose its not a popular item so that may justify the price. This is a mains voltage device with little or no seperation with insulation that leaves a lot to be desired. I am not saying it is dangerous but to my mind it is not manufactured with safety as its main priority. It's not an exact replacement for the one that died, but its slightly lower power and slightly higher current. It's been in use for 3 hours a day for some months now and the fitting emits the same light as the others with nothing smelling or smoking.
