I purchased the youth ball size 27.5 for my 9 year old daughter and couldn't be happier with it. It's a great ball that feels great in your hands. The ball has a great grip and can be used inside and outside. Let me put it to you this way if you walked into a gym to play a hoop and there were 20 balls to choose from to play with, you'd pick this ball.On a different note as a former collegiate basketball player and now youth coach I highly recommend this size ball 27.5 for kids under the age of 12. The smaller ball is easier for kids to handle (making playing the game more enjoyable for them). Also, using a smaller ball kids tend not to develop bad habits particularly with their shooting form.
