Very nice clear display, bit strange the way you get to the 24hr display which is not clear in the instructions, would also be nice if they did a radio controlled version & for the UK.

I needed a watch with a stopwatch and a stainless steel bracelet for wearing when running. My old sports watch had a canvas strap which had become a biohazard so I figured an all stainless one would be much easier to keep clean, and indeed that is certainly the case. The watch itself comes very unannounced in a fabric bag with some simple instructions and that is about it. The case is pretty slim which is great as it barely interferes with getting my tracksuit top on and off. Function wise its very basic - time, date ,alarm, stopwatch and backlight and thats about it (which is fine by me). The display has large figures which is great as its easy to read mid run (unlke my old one) and there are 3 side buttons which switch between the different operations; in tiem mode the date and time are shown. Time keeping seems fine so far and the backlight feature is great. The display is an LCD type and when the backlight is activated the effect on the display is to invert the colours like a photographic negative, the figures become light and are very clear to read. Its not an expensive watch bit it certainly looks dearer than it is - its all brushed stainless steel and is wey nicely put together. The bracelet is a standard type so nothing new to figure out.Overall then a nice little watch which at £17 is well worth the price.

I got this watch today and here's is my review on setting it up for the first time.First, the pixels ( or whatever they are ) that make up each digit, ie the number 7 or the day of the week TH for Thursday, have a missing horizontal pixel on the figure 7, which actually makes it look like a 1. So it's difficult to tell whether the watch is displaying a 7 or a 1. No big deal, but annoying.Second, pressing the middle button to change mode is a hit and miss affair. For instance, to set the time, you have to press the middle button 3 times. However, it takes significantly more presses of varying pressure to get to the time set screen. Quality control issue there with the sensor on the button press being a bit insensitive. The other buttons work as intended with just a relatively light button press, but that middle one is a problem child.Third, I have the one with the black face and gold figures. If I'm in a low light situation, say at twilight or in the shadow of a building even during the day time, I can't read the watch, the display just is not clear, as opposed to my other watches with a similar display colouring. After experimenting in the shadow of a building, I've found I have to tilt my wrist at various angles to finally see the watch face display. Alternatively I have used the LED , but this shouldn't be needed in broad daylight just because I'm in the shadow of a building. The LED works very well in both the above situation and at night. But using it so much in the day, outside while in shadow, is a drain on the battery. However, having only had the watch for a day, I suppose I'll get used to the problem and just angle my wrist towards the light and away from shadow.Fourth. Both the Alarm and the Hourly Time Signal are just not audible for me. Admittedly, I'm getting on in years and don't have the best hearing, but the beeps could not be heard by me unless I put the watch to my ear while the alarm was sounding. My 8 year old grand-daughter, who can hear a squirrel burp at 500 yards, had trouble hearing the alarm. Therefore, I won't be using it. One of my other watches, a 15 year old Casio, has an Alarm like a fog horn and is great at waking me up, but this one - no chance.Lastly. I had a horrible time trying to adjust the bracelet until I noticed that there's a VERY thin film of plastic covering the whole watch, including the bracelet. You can't see it unless you tilt the watch towards a light source, then the reflection off the plastic makes it evident. Consequently, when trying to adjust the bracelet, I couldn't lift the metal part to free the sliding clasp as the plastic was keeping it firmly fixed in place. Once I noticed, and removed the plastic, I was able to follow the instructions to adjust the bracelet just fine.Summary. The instructions are just fine and can be followed easily once you get rid of the plastic film covering the whole watch, although it does look like the person that wrote the instructions doesn't use English as a primary language, Klingon maybe ? The pictographs in the instructions are easier to follow. Because of the issues mentioned above, I'll only be using the main watch display ( day, month, day of the week and time ) and the Backlight. The rest of the functions don't interest me, and due to the lack of sensitivity in the middle button, would probably take me all day to get to the relevant screen. As it stands, for the purpose I intend, the watch is fine and for the price you can't complain. The Cons outweigh the Pros if you wanted to take advantage of all of the features, but for me and for what I need it for, a sub £10 stainless steel watch and bracelet with a backlight are value for money. Quality Control, Readability and Ease of Use are another matter, but I've said what I need to on those issues.

It's a watch for a tenner. As long as you remember that you won't be disappointed. It tells the time and it looks OK, as long as you're not scrutinising it.
