Arrivato negli orari previsti e in condizioni perfette

Il disco è arrivato intatto, all'interno c'è un foglio dove si può scaricare anche la versione digitale, peccato che non è più funzionante il sito web, il corriere dopo aver suonato il campanello di casa, sono corso a prendere il pacco, vedendo che c'erano due cani che lo abbaiavano, non si è premurato di aspettare che arrivassi (piano terra), lo ha subito gettato dentro il recinto ed i cani ci hanno subito lasciato il ricordino, dentro il pacco ci doveva essere anche il messaggio di buon compleanno, purtroppo non c'era! :-(( Crono del corriere, scende dal furgone alle 17:34:31 getta il pacco a terra 17:34:37 suona il campanello alle 17:34:47 risale sul furgone alle 17:34:57 raccolgo il pacco alle 17:35:06

So che molti reputano gli album precedenti migliori di questo, tra cui i tre precedenti che ho recensito qua su Amazon in cui ho dato solo una valutazione della qualità del vinile, ma non ci posso fare niente, questo album mi ha fatto conoscere i Genesis (avevo 13 anni) e mi piace molto di più per le sonorità vicino ai miei gusti del periodo storico degli anni '80. Non sono un FAN dei Genesis ma se un album mi piace e in qualche modo ha segnato parte della mia vita, allora il vinile entra a casa mia.Questa versione 180 grammi remastered suona molto bene, separazione canali, dinamica ottima, alcuni tic di troppo per un disco 180 grammi che dovrebbe essere di qualità ... comunque non tali da dare fastidio ma per questo ho messo 4 stelle.Copertina standandard, busta in cartoncino spesso e lucido, da un lato una foto del gruppo dell'altra i titoli delle canzoni, collaborazioni e ringraziamenti.

As far as mini-lp replica sleeve (mlps) releases go this, one of if not the first version of this album, is certainly one of the best mlps releases that I've ever seen. Not only is the design and assembly excellent being very well assembled with good quality material (Toshiba-EMI did not stinge on this one) but the reproduction of the initial vinyl release is so faithful even down to the inner sleeve plus an insert containing all the lyrics in both English and Japanese is also included. Most impressive of all is the very good sound quality that hasn't any noticeable compression giving us great sound quality; this is warm and with a wide dynamic range with hard bass but never to the point of muddiness unlike too many of the newer SHM or otherwise releases that are certainly louder and with the vocals more upfront but with so much compression to the point of muddiness and soulless sound with narrow ranges that make the music sound strangled and lifeless. There are no bonus tracks which for me is a blessing as too many times with releases like these we get too much filler with these releases that included poor excuses for material just so they can justify the higher price for an extra disc that doesn't add to the overall quality of the release. One bonus track that would have made it perfect for me though would be if they included the single "Paperlate" which is a favourite of mine. Otherwise there is little to complain about this release of what to me is Genesis' best post-Gabriel album with "Invisible Touch" coming in a close second. For Genesis' best ever album though you'd have to go with the Gabriel-inspired masterpiece "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway."I remember years ago as a teen when I first heard this album which I got just because I loved "No Reply At All" I was blown away by just how different the rest of the album was to the single. I couldn't believe it was the same band who released a single with one of my all-time favourites Earth, Wind and Fire on horns in the background! The rest of the tracks blew me away and I soon realised that I liked them better than the single I got the album for! The cover track is an all-time great but "Me and Sarah Jane", "Keep It Dark", especially "Dodo/Lurker" and "Man On the Corner" were like nothing I'd ever heard before and I felt drawn to the strange sounds emanating from my first Sony Walkman. I don't think too much about "Another Record" and "Who Dunnit?" but overall this will always be an all-time classic for me. This album is excellently produced and engineered by Hugh Padgham who also produced another of my favourite bands at the time The Police. What really surprises me is how the whole album still sounds great to me having aged really well.Overall this is an excellent mlps release of what I believe to be Genesis' best post-Gabriel work and comes highly recommended!
