The OEM wiring harness connector for my 2001 VW Passat 2.8 liter engine was no longer avaiable. My original connector would no longer stay connected to the VW switch. I found this oil pressure switch and a common blade type connectorto be the best solution for me. Works just fine on the VW.

While doing research into the oil pressure switch for my 900 Supersport (1993 model) I discovered that the switch was a pretty generic European automotive switch. Turns out, it is used on Saab and Volvo and a host of others. The thing is, there are a dozen or so different versions of this switch, all with different pressure ratings. I needed one that turned off the oil pressure light over the proper pressure threshold as well as back on again below that threshold.This particular switch met all those criteria, was the proper thread and had the proper OEM connector. I can't say whether it works well or not, as the engine is only just been refit to the frame and it hasn't run yet. I can say that it does fit and the connects to the OEM wiring harness at this point.
